Roof Mart was established in 2004 by Joe and Robert McNees. Utilizing their experience in the steel industry and capitalizing on available inventories of high quality excess steel, they began fabricating steel panels and trim for the residential and commercial roof markets. As Roof Mart’s business and metal manufacturing expertise expanded, they created two additional companies and acquired a twenty-acre manufacturing facility near their original location in Vernon, Alabama in 2009.

Although Roof Mart and their subsidiaries have grown and expanded over the years, their business philosophy has not changed: provide high quality products with responsive and reliable service. This simple, yet powerful, formula has been the driving force for earning the respect and trust of customers in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and the Southeast.

In December of 2020, Trachte Building Systems based in Sun Prairie, WI acquired Roof Mart and its subsidiary Made Right. Founded in 1901, Trachte Building Systems, Inc. is an employee-owned company and a leading manufacturer of self-storage building systems, steel curtain doors, refurbishment services and public safety training buildings.

In addition to similar manufacturing processes, both companies share a strong entrepreneurial spirit and customer-focused culture.
